DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was picked 11th by the nation's college hockey coaches in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine preseason poll, the announcement was by USA Hockey on Tuesday afternoon.
UNH was one of four Hockey East schools in the top 15. The other Hockey East schools in the preseason poll are No. 5 Providence, No. 7 Boston College and No. 10 Maine.
The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and the American Hockey Magazine.
UNH plays an exhibition game vs. the University of Ottawa on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Whittemore Center. The Wildcats open their season on Saturday, Oct. 13 vs. the University of Vermont at the Whittemore Center at 7 p.m.
