DURHAM, N.H.-Junior forward Darren Haydar (Milton, Ontario) was named Hockey East Player of the Week for the third time this season and freshman forward Nathan Martz (Chilliwack, British Columbia) earned Rookie of the Week, after the University of New Hampshire men's ice hockey team defeated both Harvard and Princeton this past week.

Haydar scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in the 4-1 victory over the Crimson, a team ranked 15th in the nation and in first place in the ECAC. Haydar also recorded two assists in UNH's 6-3 victory over the Tigers, a team tied for second ECAC standings. Haydar, who is ranked second among the Hockey East point leaders, leads UNH with 11-15-26. During his career, Haydar has recorded 64 goals and 64 assists for a grand total of 128 points. Haydar is moving up UNH's all-time scoring list at a rapid pace, moving from the 52nd spot at the beginning of the season to his current spot at No. 37.

Martz,, who now has three goals and seven assists for 10 points this first year, centered the first line for both games (the first time in his career) and the end result was two goals and two assists on the week. His two tallies were back-to-back vs. Princeton and gave the Wildcats a 2-0 advantage at 8:03 of the first period.

The Wildcats are 12-3-3 overall and are currently in the midst of a nine-game unbeaten streak. UNH, ranked fifth last week in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Poll, is also 4-2-2 in Hockey East play, good for third in the standings.

UNH will return to action on Dec. 29 at the Auld Lang Syne Tournament in Hanover, N.H. The Wildcats will battle Dartmouth on the 29th and either Vermont or Miami on Dec. 30th.
