MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the University of New Hampshire Athletic Training Department is to provide quality evidence-based individualized healthcare for University of New Hampshire student-athletes. We strive to not only support their athletic performance, but to also promote overall wellness and well-being through team-based interdisciplinary care. As a department, we emphasize the importance of athlete / patient education related to the nature of their injury, preventative and rehabilitative exercise techniques, and skills to promote personal quality of life. The department is committed to fostering an atmosphere conducive to the education of our UNH student athletes and the master’s athletic training students immersed at UNH as a clinical site.
PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of the Athletic Training Department is as follows:
- Provide athletic training services to student-athletes
- Provide a sound learning environment for MSAT students as a clinical site
- Support National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) efforts to promote the athletic training profession
- Provide evidence-based interdepartmental / interdisciplinary approach to support overall well-being within our athletes
- Provide continual communications between the student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administration regarding athletic training related matters
