White Shatters 10,000m School Record at Black and Gold Invitational

RESULTS
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshman Ruth White (Orono, Maine) broke the school record in the 10,000-meter run as the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team competed at the Black and Gold Invitational on Friday.
White placed third in the event with a time of 33:27.57, shattering the previous school record set by Erica Jesseman in 2011 (34:30.30) by over a minute.
The Wildcats also earned two event victories. Sophomore Briana Danis (Hooksett, N.H.) won the discus with a toss of 43.52m, and sophomore Ronnie Jones (Lowell, Mass.) took first place in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.45m.
As a team, the Wildcats are in first place out of eight teams with 44 points.
