Tomlinson's TDs and Seide's Ground Game Lead UNH Past Holy Cross, 21-20

Tomlinson finished with eight catches for 85 yards, including the 12- and 2-yard TDs. Seide carried the ball 18 times, which included a 1-yard touchdown that gave UNH the 21-20 lead at 9:18 of the fourth quarter.
Seth Morgan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) completed 17 of 22 passes for 158 yards and the two TD connections with Tomlinson.

Brendan Tighe (Lowell, Mass.) secured the victory with an interception at midfield on a 3rd-and-43 play from the HC 24 with 27 seconds remaining. He also finished with a career-high eight tackles.
Wande Owens (Cooksville, Md.) led the Wildcats with 10 tackles and Josiah Silver (Hampton, N.H.) had eight tackles, one sack, and a QB hurry.
Holy Cross was led by Joe Pesansky, who completed 19 of 29 passes for 301 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Fuller had 23 rushes for 84 yards and a TD.
UNH improves to 1-1 and Holy Cross is 0-2.

FIRST QUARTER
- UNH drove 66 yards to the HC 17 on the opening possession of the game, but the drive ended on an interception.
- Daniel Porto's 31-yard field goal gave the Crusaders a 3-0 lead with eight seconds left in the first quarter.
- Caleb Mead (Willow Grove, Pa.) returned the ensuing kickoff to the 50 and Gavin Urda (Milford, N.H.) recovered the fumble at the HC 37 to give UNH excellent field position.
SECOND QUARTER
- Morgan rolled to the right and found Tomlinson alone in the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown to cap the 5-play, 37-yard drive. Nick Mazzie (Boxford, Mass.) kicked the PAT to give UNH a 7-3 lead at 12:43.

- Porto kicked a 27-yard field goal with two seconds on the clock to send the teams into the locker room with the 'Cats leading 7-6.
THIRD QUARTER
- The first three drives of the second half resulted in touchdowns to advance the score to 20-14 in favor of Holy Cross.
- Fuller's nine-yard TD run put the home team back in front, 13-7, at 12:42.
- Morgan connected with Tomlinson on a two-yard fade to the right corner and Mazzie's PAT gave the 'Cats a 14-13 lead at 10:21. On the preceding play, Seide broke free for a 35-yard run.
- On Holy Cross' next possession, Pesansky hit Jacob Petersen in stride at the HC 45 and he went down the right sideline for the 71-yard score that gave the Crusaders their third lead of the game, 20-14, at 9:43.
- UNH committed a turnover in the red zone for the second time when Holy Cross recovered a fumble at the HC 3 to end a 4-play, 60-yard drive.
- The Wildcats' defense forced a 3-and-out, however, and the 'Cats regained possession with 4:33 on the clock.
FOURTH QUARTER
- With UNH facing 4th-and-6 at the HC 30, Morgan scrambled to the right but was tackled at the 25 yard line to give possession to the Crusaders.
- New Hampshire's defense once again forced a 3-and-out – Silver's sack on first down put the Crusaders behind the sticks – and a 15-yard punt return by Joey Corcoran (Montreal, Quebec) gave the 'Cats possession at the UNH 42.
- On the next drive, pass plays of 21 yards to Tomlinson and 17 yards to Corcoran advanced the ball to the HC 1. Two plays later, Seide bulled up the middle into the end zone and Mazzie's PAT kick gave UNH a 21-20 lead with 9:18 remaining.
- UNH's defense allowed only one first down on the next two Holy Cross possessions.
- The Crusaders got the ball back at their 20 yard line with 1:39 on the clock. A five-yard run and 32-yard pass play quickly advanced the ball to the UNH 43.
- Holy Cross was called for a false start and personal foul to make it 1st-and-30 from the HC 37. Pesansky's illegal forward pass pushed the ball back to the HC 32 and then a sack by Flex Ruiz (Orlando, Fla.) made it 3rd-and-43.
- On the next play, Tighe intercepted the ball and slid down at the HC 33 to secure the win.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Seide's personal-best 161 rushing yards included a career long of 61.
- Jacoby Sherard (Lawrenceville, N.J.) eclipsed 100 career tackles. He entered the game with 96 and made five stops at Holy Cross to increase his total to 101.
- Silver increased his career total to 196 tackles.
- Owens has 189 career tackles.
- Noah Stansbury (Orange, N.J.) eclipsed 150 career tackles and is at 152.
- Tighe ranks second among active Wildcats with three career interceptions.
