Beaulieu leads team on beam, floor; Moreno scores personal best on bars
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Alyssa Beaulieu (Holyoke, Mass.) tied for team-high scores on balance beam and floor exercise and sophomore Leah Moreno (Cary, N.C.) set a personal best on uneven bars to lead the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team to a third-place finish in Sunday's quad meet at Yale University's John J. Lee Amphitheater.
Beaulieu scored a 9.825 to share the top Wildcat beam mark with sophomore Serena Mullin (Hamden, Conn.), and Beaulieu's 9.825 on floor equaled freshman Anne Challman (Lewisburg, Pa.) in that event.
Moreno, who set a career high on bars Friday night at Michigan State, set a new beam benchmark with a 9.875, which was the top score of the meet for UNH (16-10, 1-2 EAGL).
Maryland won the meet with a 197.300, followed by Yale (195.025). The Wildcats scored a 194.525 to defeat Southern Connecticut State (192.300).

HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Wildcats began the meet on floor, where Beaulieu and Challman led the lineup with their matching 9.825s that resulted in a share of sixth place. Mullin recorded a 9.800 (T-9th) and graduate students Kenadi Brown (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) posted a 9.775 (T-15th). Maryland's Madeline Komoroski won floor with a 9.925.
•In the second rotation, Gorgenyi headlined the vault lineup with a 9.775 (T-6th). Moreno and senior Jenna DeVincenzo (Bethpage, N.Y.) tied for 11th place with a score of 9.675. UM's Natalie Martin topped the podium on vault with a 9.925.
•Moreno's career-high bar score netted a tie for third place, Gorgenyi totaled a 9.800 (8th) and senior Gianna Graver (East Northport, N.Y.) equaled her career high with a 9.775 to tie classmate Sierra Bauman (Wallingford, Conn.) for ninth. Maryland's Alexa Rothenbuescher won bars with a 9.925.
•Beaulieu and Mullin shared fourth place on beam, with Gorgenyi (9.800) sharing sixth place. Bauman and DeVincenzo scored a 9.775 (T-9th). Komoroski won beam with a 9.925.
•Gorgenyi finished as the runner-up in all-around (39.150) to Yale's Sarah Wilson (39.250).
