18 Field Hockey Student-Athletes Receive America East Academic Honor

10 Wildcats Named to Commissioner's Honor Roll for Recording 3.50+ GPA in Fall Semester
BOSTON – Eighteen student-athletes on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team were named to the America East Academic Honor Roll for Fall 2022. Ten players earned Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition and eight made the Honor Roll.
Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who recorded a Fall 2022 semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher; 42 percent of the team received this accolade. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 are named to the Honor Roll. Overall, two-thirds of the squad received one of the conference's academic honors.
Two Wildcats recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA in Fall '22; those highly distinguished Wildcats are Brecken Calcari (St. Louis, Mo.) and Madilynn Clark (Evanston, Ill.).
They were joined on the Commissioner's Honor Roll by Reagan Calcari (St. Louis, Mo.), Gigi Fay (Lancaster, Mass.), Leah Glidden (Kittery, Maine), Molly McAteer (Annapolis, Md.), Juliane Ohmen (Bremen, Germany), Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario), Olivia Watson (Easton, Pa.) and Jaiden Wittel (Stroudsburg, Pa.).
Mariana Birdthistle (Limerick, Ireland), Anne-Fleur Dabekaussen (Badhoevedorp, Netherlands), Elsa Goldsberry (Lake Bluff, Ill.), Lindsay Lee (Eindhoven, Netherlands), Ava Mariani (Easton, Pa.), Chloe Miller (Collegeville, Pa.), Lily Rothwell (Lynnfield, Mass.), Mari Shea (Hampstead, N.H.) were named to the Honor Roll.
Seventy-seven percent of student-athletes who competed in America East sponsored sports this year earned Honor Roll recognition for earning at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2022 fall or 2023 spring semesters. Of that group, 52 percent of student-athletes and 1,797 in total earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status for registering a GPA of 3.5 or better. Overall, 2,694 America East student-athletes earned Academic Honor Roll in 2022-23. The marks the 18th consecutive year America East student-athletes have averaged at least a 3.0 GPA.
America East is proud to have one of most comprehensive academic awards programs in the country, which honors over two-thirds of its student-athletes for their success in the classroom, including its sports Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic honorees, Presidential Scholar-Athletes and its Honor Roll Elite 18 recipients.
New Hampshire begins the2023 season Aug. 25 against Quinnipiac University. Game time at Memorial Field is 2 p.m. The Wildcats then play host to Michigan State University on Aug. 27 (1 p.m.).
