Wildcats Improve to 5-1 with 195-105 Win at Rhode Island

UNH wins 14 of 16 events.
KINGSTON, R.I. – The Wildcats won 14 of the 16 events as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated Rhode Island, 195-105, on Saturday in non-conference action at Tootell Aquatics Center. The Wildcats improve to 5-1, while the Rams fall to 5-4. Five Wildcats were double individual winners.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Abby McKinney (Westfield, N.J.) won two individual events and was a member of both winning relay teams. She took first in the 200 freestyle (1:56.00) and 100 butterfly (58.19).
- Freshman Sophia Routzahn (Frederick, Md.) continued her outstanding rookie season as she won two events placing first in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.66) and 200 IM (2:09.64).
- Sophomore Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) was a double winner capturing the 200 butterfly (2:08.09) and 100 freestyle (53.33).
- Senior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) recorded a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.14) and the 500 freestyle (5:11.48).
- Graduate student Shelby Kasse (Hoofddorp, Netherlands) won both backstroke events placing first in the 100 back (58.25) and 200 back (2:06.08).
- Freshman Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) won the 50 freestyle (24.31) and freshman Carolyn Nelson (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) took the 1000 freestyle (10:36.11).
- The 200 medley relay team of Kasse, Lum, McKinney and senior Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden) started off the meet placing first with a time of 1:47.79, while the 200 freestyle relay team of Mahoney, Stille, Pradissitto and McKinney placed first with a time of 1:33.87.
