Almasian ties long jump school record in home finale on Saturday afternoon

DURHAM, N.H. --Â Sophomore Meline Almasian (Westford, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team tied a school record in the long jump on Saturday afternoon in a weather shortened Wildcat Invitational at the Reggie Atkins Track & Field Facility on Saturday afternoon.Â
Almasian finish first in the long jump with a mark of 18'8 tying the school record held by Emma Checovich which she set in 2018, while her teammates Savannah Vartabedian (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Mia Taranko (Saco, Maine) placed second and third, respectively with marks of 17'9.75 and 17'6.25.Â
Freshman Autumn Agri (Stratham, Mass.) notched a mark of 35'7.25 in the triple jump, which was good for third place. Senior Lauren Quann (Pictou, Nova Scotia) posted a second-place finish with a throw of 121'6 in the javelin and finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5'1.75.Â
Junior Saige Tudisco (Haverhill, Mass.) registered a third-place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.69.Â
UNH returns to action on Friday, April 15 at UConn.Â
