DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team's season came to a close in a 72-69 loss to Binghamton University in the quarterfinals of the America East men's basketball tournament Sunday afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium.
The Wildcats finish the season at 15-13 (10-9 AE), while the Bearcats improve to 12-16 (9-10 AE).
Senior forward Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) posted a team high 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting. He grabbed six rebounds and had the team's only block as well. Sophomore guard Blondeau Tchoukuiegno (Montreal, Quebec) finished with 15 points on a team high 55.6% from the field. He also grabbed six rebounds and notched five assists.
The Wildcats shot 46% from the field as a team, while the Bearcats shot 48%. Both teams had 28 points in the paint.
The Bearcats owned a 36-34 lead at the half.
Binghamton was propelled by a game-high 21 points from Jacob Falko, who shot 47% from the field.
