DURHAM, N.H. – The University of Hampshire field hockey program, led by longtime head coach Robin Balducci, announced Wednesday that transfer Juliane Ohmen (Bremen, Germany) and incoming freshman Madilynn Clark (Evanston, Ill.) will join the Wildcats for the 2022 season.
Ohmen was a four-year starter at Merrimack College and two-time Northeast Conference All-Conference Second Team honoree who will graduate with a degree in business management this spring.
This past fall, Ohmen started in 13 of 14 games played and recorded one assist for one point. Overall, the 5-foot-7 forward/midfielder tallied eight goals and six assists for 22 points in 58 games at Merrimack.
Ohmen has been named to the Northeast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.75 or higher grade-point average) and made the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad each of the past three years.
Prior to her collegiate career at Merrimack, Ohmen was a four-time winner of the German Field Hockey Championship. She won the German State Cup as a junior and played on the Bremen Select Team.
"Jule is a talented and poised player with a high hockey IQ," Balducci said. "She has been a top performer at Merrimack and in the Northeast Conference. Jule will bring a great deal of leadership to our program."

Clark is a 5-foot-9 midfielder who will graduate from Evanston Township High School this spring. As a senior captain of the field hockey team this past fall, Clark was an all-conference selection and named team MVP. She received both those honors as a sophomore in fall 2019; the 2020 season was canceled because of COVID-19.
Clark has played for the Rise field hockey club and served as team captain the past two years.
Clark has made the Academic Honor Roll every year at Evanston Township and also lettered in both ice hockey and lacrosse. In the 2021-22 ice hockey season, she led the team to the state championship and was named to the regional district team.
"Madilynn is a quick, skillful player who will bring a high level of athleticism to our team," Balducci said. "She has the ability to play several positions and a great work ethic that will make her an outstanding addition to our freshman class."
Clark joins UNH's incoming freshman class that is also comprised of Brecken Calcari (Saint Louis, Mo.), Tamera Cookman (Woking, England), Tasmin Cookman (Woking, England), Anne-Fleur Dabekaussen (Badhoevedorp, Netherlands), Bella Davies-Roche (Lymington, United Kingdom), Chloe Miller (Collegeville, Pa.) and Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario).

New Hampshire has played in the America East Championship tournament 14 of the last 15 years. The Wildcats boasted an All-American, two All-Northeast Region Team honorees and the America East Defensive Player of the Year this past season.
