Ten UNH Student-Athletes Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

Isabelle Danahy and Tori Palumbo Are Four-Time Honorees
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – A total of 10 student-athletes on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team were named to the 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad on Tuesday.
The National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year. More than 1,370 student-athletes from 80 Division I institutions earned recognition this year.
Senior midfielders Isabelle Danahy (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Tori Palumbo (Ayer, Mass.) were feted for the fourth consecutive year and are among this year's 230 student-athletes who received this accolade four times.
Junior goalkeeper Jemma Woods (Frimley, England) and junior back Molly McAteer (Annapolis, Md.) are second-time honorees.
Sophomores Reagan Calcari (St. Louis, Mo.), Gigi Fay (Lancaster, Mass.), Lindsay Lee (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and Olivia Watson (Easton, Pa.) were named to the National Academic Squad for the second time in as many years.
Senior back Bloem van den Brekel (Eindhoven, Nethlerlands) and senior forward Tia Raspante (Sandwich, Mass.) both made the National Academic Squad for the first time.
Three NFHCA Division I academic awards remain to be announced. The Scholars of Distinction is Feb. 15, followed by the National Academic Team Awards on Feb. 21 and the National Scholar-Athlete on Feb. 23.
New Hampshire has played in the America East Championship tournament 14 of the last 15 years. The Wildcats boasted an All-American, two All-Northeast Region Team honorees and the America East Defensive Player of the Year this past season.
