LOWELL, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team competed at the George Davis Invitational in a multi-team meet on Saturday afternoon at Cushing Field Complex on the campus of UMass Lowell.
UNH earned four first-place finishes on the day, including the top three finishers in the 5000 meters event.
"This meet was good preparation for the bigger competitions we will be at over the next few weeks," said UNH co-head coach Casey Carroll. "The team did a great job of overcoming a cold and rainy start to the day and competed very well against more teams and deeper fields. There were twelve teams there, so it was encouraging to see a lot of top-five finishes individually in the distance, throws, jumps and sprint events. It was also very beneficial for our athletes to experience this venue where the America East Championship will be in two weeks."
The Wildcats return to return to action on Saturday, April 24 for a pre-conference multi team meet in Durham. Meet time from the Reggie Atkins Track & Field Facility is 11am.
