Wildcats fall at UMass Lowell in America East play

Adara Groman registers a team-high 12 points in the losing effort for UNH
LOWELL, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell at UMass Lowell, 74-40 on Saturday afternoon at Costello Athletic Center in America East play.
The Wildcats were paced offensively by freshman guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.), who played a game-high 37 minutes and registered a team-high 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field and 2-of-6 from the three-point arc. It marked Groman's fourth game this season with 10 or more points.
Senior guard Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) chipped in with nine points on 3-of-6 from the field in the losing effort against the River Hawks. Torres also added three steals and two rebounds.
Sophomore guard Héléna Delaruelle (Enghien-Les-Bains, France) recorded six points, seven rebounds and three steals in the game for the Wildcats.
UMass Lowell's Kharis Idom led all scorers with 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting, which included 3-for-7 from three and four steals. Denise Solis and Jaliena Sanchez chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively, in the win for the River Hawks. Sanchez also tallied a game-high six steals to go along with five assists and two rebounds.
UNH drops to 5-12 overall (5-9 AEC) with the loss, while the River Hawks improve to 10-8 overall and 9-6 in America East contests.

UNH outrebounded the River Hawks, 35-29 for the game, including a 12-6 edge in the third quarter alone. The Wildcats held a 16-9 advantage on the offensive glass on the afternoon.
The Wildcats' 10 steals on the day was the fifth time this season they have recorded 10+ steals in the contest.
