DMR Team Claims Gold at ECACs Day Two

Two Wildcat relay teams score in day two of competition.
BOSTON – Two University of New Hampshire women's track & field relay teams finished in scoring position on Sunday as the Wildcats competed at the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships hosted by Boston University at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
The distance medley relay team of Michaella Conery (Concord, N.H.), Zakiya Scott (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Lauren Dean (Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.) and Nicole Yeomans (Foxborough, Mass.) got one more shot at a first-place finish after just being edged out in the America East Championship meet. The team succeeded in capturing a victory and an ECAC Championship, as they took first overall with a time of 11:44.77, finishing a full four seconds ahead of the second place team, Rutgers.
In the 4x800-meter relay, the team of sophomore Heather Linscott (Hingham, Mass.), freshman Cailey Archer (Berthoud, Colo.), junior Shaylyn Saunders (Hudson, N.H.), and senior Brianne Moss (Shrewsbury, Mass.) looked to repeat its scoring success from the America East conference meet two weekends prior. After qualifying on Saturday, the team scored once again, finishing eighth overall in the finals with a time of 9:08.45.
The Wildcats finished eighth in the team standings out of 42 teams, tallying 32 total points.

The outdoor track and field season is just two weekends away with the Wildcats heading to the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28.
