Seven 'Cats Named to NFHCA National All-Academic Squad

GILBERT, Ariz. – A total of seven student-athletes on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team were named to the 2019 ZAG Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad on Tuesday.
The National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
Senior midfielder Kayla Sliz (Ajax, Ontario) received this academic accolade all four years as a UNH Wildcat.
Junior back Erin Malone (Crofton, Va.) was honored for the third time in as many years.
Junior midfielder Isabelle Danahy (Chelmsford, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Tori Palumbo (Ayer, Mass.) and were feted for the second consecutive year.
Senior back Nicky Bajus (Lions Bay, British Columbia) and junior back Julia Chase (Belmont, Mass.) were first time honorees.
Junior midfielder Conner Allen (Centreville, Md.), a first-year Wildcat, made this academic squad for the third consecutive year.
UNH finished the 2019 season with eight wins, including two victories against nationally-ranked teams (3-2 vs. Stanford and 4-3 at UAlbany). Three 'Cats received NFHCA All-Region recognition and UNH received seven America East annual awards, including the Rookie of the Year.
