Wildcats post 195.650 in first EAGL setback

Two days after defeating the Tar Heels (5-5, 1-2 EAGL) in a tri-meet at North Carolina State, the Wildcats (9-3, 4-0 EAGL) lost their first EAGL head-to-head matchup of the season in Carmichael Arena, site of the 2020 EAGL Championship (Saturday, March 21).
"I am very happy with tonight's performance," head coach Lindsey Bruck Ayotte said. "The team has been very consistent and continues to get better each meet. It's not easy competing two meets in a weekend, and the team handled themselves very well."
In the final rotation, Worthington registered a 9.875 for her third beam victory of the season while Kelley was runner-up by virtue of her career-high 9.850.
Emma Winer (Georgetown, Mass.) paced the 'Cats on vault (9.775, T-5th) and floor exercise (9.875, second), and Riley Freehling (Southington, Conn.) finished second in all-around (38.700).
"I'm extremely proud of Riley for continuing to do all-around every meet and being that strong leadoff position that we need on three events. She has been such a solid competitor for us this year!"
