Moreno Wins Bars, 'Cats Score Bars and Floor Exercise Season-Highs at Home Victory

Wildcats defeat SCSU in Wednesday dual meet
DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Captain Leah Moreno (Cary, N.C) scored a career-high 9.875 on bars to finish first to help the UNH gymnastics team to win against Southern Connecticut State in Lundholm Gymnasium.
On vault, there was a clean sweep by UNH with senior Serena Mullin (Hamden, Conn.) and junior Mady Harvey (Freeland, Mich.) in a tie for first place (9.850). Frensham Amelia Lannon (Sutton, Mass.) and junior Gwen Ockerbloom (Granby, Conn.) in another tie for third place with a score of 9.825.
With Moreno taking the top spot, Mullin scored a 9.850 to claim second place. Junior Zoe Arthur (El Segundo, Calif.) scored a season-high 9.825 to take third place to help the wildcats to their victory. With this podium sweep, the 'Cats were able to boast a season-high 49.100 on that apparatus.
In the third rotation, Harvey was able to reclaim her first place podium on beam with a 9.875. Ockerbloom earned a 9.825 to edge out SCSU Gabriela Dinisoe of second place.
Closing the meet on floor exercise, junior McCall McMullen (Athens, Ga.) was able to clinch the top spot with a 9.900. Ockerbloom earned herself another podium with a 9875 to share second place with SCSU Abby Royer. Junior Poulina Minaev (Smithtown, N.Y) tied with sophomore Peyton Novinger (Hershey, Pa.) for fourth place 9.850, to help the team post a new season-high 49.300 on that apparatus. Novinger was able to earn the team's Katie Baldwin Expression Award for the meet.

•The 'Cats are back in action at home Sunday, March 8 vs Bowling Green and George Washington to honor the graduating class of 2026 for Senior Day in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex. The team will be signing autographs following the meet.
