DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team returns to action after winter break, playing its first game since December 7 as the Wildcats travel to University Park, Pennsylvania to face Penn State in a two-game weekend series.
The Wildcats ended the Fall 2019 semester on a three-game winning streak, upending then-#9 Harvard 3-1, and sweeping Merrimack College 6-0 away, 4-2 at home. The Nittany Lions also bounced back in their fall semester finale, taking three wins in their last four matchups, including a two-game home sweep over RIT.

The Wildcats have faced 83 opponent power play opportunities, allowing only six goals; that's good for a .928 penalty kill percentage, ranked #4 in the country.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Wildcats played their first two games of the season against Hockey East foe Merrimack College
- The Wildcats took game one by a score of 6-0 in North Andover, Massachusetts, and hosted the Warriors in game two at the Whittemore Center in Durham.
- UNH found itself down by a goal twice in game two, but came back to win the contest 4-2 in the Fall Semester finale.
- Junior forward Grace Middleton (Midland, Mich.) led the way in offensive production for the Wildcats, tallying two multi-assist performances, assisting on both games' game-winning goals.
- The game-winning goal in game two came from freshman defender Rae Breton (Brighton, Ontario), whom scored her first two career goals in as many games against Merrimack; her performance earned her Rookie of the Week honors from the Hockey East Conference.
- Redshirt-sophomore goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) backstopped the Wildcats with two 24-save performances, getting her fourth shutout of the season in game one.

ABOUT PENN STATE
- The Nittany Lions (University Park, Pa.) are coming off a two-game series sweep of RIT at home, to go into winter break with a two-game win streak.
- Penn State is 6-8-4 overall this season and 4-3-1 when playing at home.
- This will be just the fifth time that the Wildcats and Nittany Lions have faced off, and the first time since 2015. The teams split a two-game series at the Whittemore Center in the 2014-15 season.
