The win put the Wildcats to 1-0-0 in conference play for the sixth straight season, and was their first road win of the 2019 season.

GAME INFORMATION:
Date: September 22, 2019 – 2 P.M.
Location: Retriever Soccer Park – Baltimore, Md.
Attendance: 493
Score: UNH 2 (5-4-0, 1-0-0), UMBC 0 (1-6-2, 0-1-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Wildcats had their first true scoring chance in the 10th minute; a free kick from Megan Rumbold (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) sailed into the goalmouth and was headed for the left upper-90 but a leaping effort from UMBC's Jade Wilkins prevented the goal.
- It only took another minute for UNH's next opportunity: a corner kick from freshman Whitney Wiley (Vienna, Va.) found Ally Reynolds in the box and the Wildcats took an early 1-0 lead just 10 and a half minutes into the game.
- The Retrievers tried to answer back on a low cross through the box in the 27th minute; sophomore 'keeper Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) tipped the initial cross with a dive, and was able to get back into position to save a rebound shot.
- UNH tacked on another in the 29th minute when Kaylan Williams found some space just outside the 18 yard box and fired a shot that bent to the bottom left corner of the net, beating the keeper.
- UMBC came out with more pressure to start the second half with a close shot in the box by Fuentes but Sheppard dove to her left to make the save.
- In the 66th minute, senior Belle Pesante (Wakefield, R.I.) sent a ball across to box to freshman Shayna Salis (Bedford, N.H.), but the shot went just wide left of the net.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- UNH tallied seven total corner kicks in the game and held UMBC to none.
- Fouls were even at 12 apiece.
- The Wildcats outshot the Retrievers 8-2 in the first half and 12-6 overall.
