BOSTON - University of New Hampshire junior thrower Alyssa Colbert (Smithfield, R.I) has been named this week's America East Field Performer of the Week for her performance in the UNH Home Opener this past weekend.
Â
Colbert won the discus throw at 148 feet, 4 inches, breaking the school record of 148'1" set by Emily Wernig back in 2016. Colbert also came in third in the hammer throw with 143'8", which also set a new personal best.

This is Colbert's first weekly America East honor, and UNH's first weekly honor of the 2019 outdoor track and field season.
Â
Colbert and the 'Cats kick off the weekend with the Providence Invitational in Providence on Friday, April 12 at noon. New Hampshire will also be in action on Saturday at home, hosting the UNH Invitational on Saturday, April 13 beginning at 11:30 am.
