Wildcats Activate New Fan-Friendly Amenities for 2018 Season
DURHAM, N.H. – Touchdown Tents, a field-level hospitality area with an all-you-can-eat barbecue buffet, and the Blue Monster Seats, a refurbished student section with enhanced activities for UNH students, highlight fan improvements rolled out for the 2018 University of New Hampshire football season at Wildcat Stadium.
The Touchdown Tents will be the best opportunity for large groups to enjoy UNH football. Located directly behind the South End Zone, the Touchdown Tents will feature guest amenities including exclusive group seating, a barbecue buffet, full-bar service and many more family-friendly comforts with the closest proximity to game action. Fans in the Touchdown Tents will have a terrific view of the stadium videoboard and will be located nearest the Wildcats as they enter and exit the field.
"The Touchdown Tents will accommodate families, friends and colleagues who wish to enjoy the convenience of food and beverage service combined with the up-close feel of Wildcat football field-level access," said Jon Danos, UNH Executive Director of Athletics. "We are proud to offer this unique group option as another affordable way for fans to get the most of their experience at Wildcat Stadium."
The Blue Monster Seats, located on Wildcat Stadium's east side, will accommodate an expanded UNH student section with stadium seating that includes clear sideline views and an easy-to-access patio area available all game exclusively for students. Located directly above Walker Way, which is the Wildcats path to the locker room, the all-inclusive Blue Monster section will include fun, student-centric games and giveaways with close proximity to concessions and restrooms. The UNH marching band will be located in the Blue Monster Seats to further energize the crowd.
"Our student fans are so integral to the electric environment at Wildcat Stadium, and we are committed to providing them with a comprehensive gameday experience that makes Wildcat Stadium the place to be on gameday," said Danos. "Coach Mac and his players feed off the energy that can only be achieved through a vibrant student section, and we feel the Blue Monster Seats will take the student experience to the next level."
The Wildcat Stadium Beer Garden returns in 2018 for all fans 21-and-older with valid identification. Located on the west side of Wildcat Stadium, the beer garden opens when stadium gates open, and service continues until the end of the third quarter.
Popular luxury suites are once again available for gameday rentals. These exclusive group areas feature made-to-order menu items and suite attendants handling all food and drink service needs.
Season ticket members have the unique opportunity to purchase customized parking in the all-new Priority Lot, the closest area to the main entrance with the ability to bypass gameday traffic. Eligibility requirements, which include a $1,000 fundraising gift to UNH Athletics, provide Priority Lot members with personalized parking for every home game and full customer service for their tailgating enjoyment.
Membership in the Service Credit Union Victory Club combines climate-controlled indoor seating with a convenient outdoor area displaying the stadium's most comfortable perspective. This hospitality area, complete with a delicious in-game buffet and full-service bar provided by UNH Conferences and Catering, has a limited number of seats remaining on a full-season basis.
Wildcat Stadium saw a 13-percent attendance increase in 2017, highlighted by the all-time largest crowd for a home opener (15,854) and largest on-campus crowd (22,135) in school history. The Wildcats averaged 12,751 fans per home game (regular season), up from the previous high of 11,108 in 2016. The overall attendance of 63,756 for five home dates eclipsed the regular-season attendance of 55,542 in 2016.
UNH, which is ranked No. 7 in the STATS FCS Preseason Top 25, has reached the NCAA playoffs 14 consecutive years, which is the longest current streak in the nation. The Wildcats reached the national quarterfinals last season and boasted a 9-5 mark. The 'Cats open the season Thursday, Aug. 30 (7 p.m.) in the Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket at Maine in the second edition of the Thursday Night Throwdown.
UNH plays host to Colgate in its home opener at Wildcat Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. Tickets for Youth Football Night, presented by Tuscan Kitchen and Market, are on sale now.
