DURHAM, N.H. -- Grad student linebacker Ryan Toscano (Bedford, N.H.) recorded a career-high 17 tackles and senior quarterback Seth Morgan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another to lead the University of New Hampshire football team to Saturday afternoon's 31-30 comeback victory against No. 16 Stony Brook University at Wildcat Stadium.

UNH ended the game on a 21-0 run in the fourth quarter. Morgan scored on a 24-yard run at 12:24, Denzell Gibson (Bellwood, Ill.) scored on a 2-yard run at 9:37, and Joey Corcoran (Montreal, Quebec) pulled in a 15-yard TD pass at 6:15 to transform a 30-10 deficit into a 31-20 lead.

Morgan completed 27 of 40 passes for 263 yards with TD passes of 5 and 15 yards and the aforementioned 24-yard touchdown run.

Gibson carried the ball 17 times for 64 yards and the touchdown. He also had three catches for 44 yards.

UNH's defense helped fuel the comeback with a pair of fourth-quarter takeaways. Flex Ruiz (Orlando, Fla.) forced a fumble recovered by Jacoby Sherard (Lawrenceville, N.J.) and Zedane Williams (Springfield, Mass.) also had a fumble recovery.

New Hampshire extended its win streak to three games to improve to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the CAA. SBU is now 8-3, 5-2.

FIRST QUARTER

An interception by Stony Brook's Shamoun Duncan-Niusulu gave the Seawolves possession at the UNH 25 and SBU scored the only points of the first quarter on Enda Kirby's 24-yard field goal at 4:08.
Rodney Faulk's strip-sack of Morgan and recovered fumble by Stony Brook's A.J. Roberts gave the visitors 1^st-and-goal at the UNH 8 with 1:07 on the clock. On third down from the UNH 3, Brandon Perkins (Williamstown, N.J.) and Jordan Mcallister (South Orange, N.J.) stopped Roland Dempster for a one-yard loss.

SECOND QUARTER

On the first play of the second quarter, Kirby kicked a 22-yard field goal to give Stony Brook a 6-0 lead.
Ruiz returned the ensuing short kickoff 10 yards to the UNH 40, and then Gibson rushed for 15 yards to build momentum on a touchdown-producing drive. A 21-yard pass from Morgan, to Logan Tomlinson (Manchester, Conn.) advanced the ball to the SBU 5.
On the next play, Morgan completed a five-yard TD pass to Tomlinson into the left corner of the end zone, followed by a complete PAT by Nick Mazzie (Boxford, Mass.) to give UNH a 7-6 lead at 11:06.
Stony Brook replied with a 30-yard TD play from Tyler Knoop to Jayce Freeman to go back in front, 13-7, at 9:42.
The 'Cats followed with a 12-play, 41-yard drive that took 6:23 off the clock, but Mazzie's 38-yard field goal attempt sailed wide right at 3:12.
With 1:42 on the clock, Isaac Seide (Everett, Mass.) caught a short pass and drilled 16 yards through the middle of the field to advance the ball to the SBU 34, and that was followed by a a 28-yard pass to Colby Ramshaw (Londonderry, N.H.) to the SBU 6.
At 4^th and 4, with 27 seconds on the clock, UNH crept closer with a Mazzie's 22-yard field goal making the score 13-10.

THIRD QUARTER

Stony Brook took the opening kickoff of the second half and went 61 yards on 11 plays to build a 20-10 lead at 10:24.
On 3^rd-and-4 from the UNH 18, Dempster was stopped at the line of scrimmage by Toscano and Jonathan Collins, Jr. (Williamstown, N.J.) to force Kirby's 37-yard field goal that pushed the advantage to 23-10 at 5:49.

FOURTH QUARTER

The first play of the fourth quarter was a 13-yard TD pass from Knoop to Cole Bunicci to push the margin to 30-10 at 14:56.
Caleb Mead (Willow Grove, Pa.) returned the ensuing kickoff 41 yards, and that proved to ignite UNH's comeback.
Caleb Burke (Johnstown, Pa.) caught an 11-yard pass and, two plays later, Morgan passed to Gibson for 15 yards to advance the ball to the SBU 29. Facing 4^th-and-4, Morgan rushed to the right side, scampered back to the middle to evade tacklers for 24 yards to score a TD. Mazzie's PAT brought the Wildcats within 30-17 at 12:24.
At 11:05, Ruiz forced a Stony Brook fumble on a strip-sack that resulted in Sherard's recovery and eight-yard return to the SBU 13.
On 2^nd-and-goal from the SBU 2, Gibson cut through the middle a touchdown followed by a Mazzie PAT kick to trim the deficit to 30-24 at 9:37.
Stony Brook quarterback Malachi Marshall – inserted into the game because Knoop was shaken up on the previous play – fumbled the snap and Willams swooped in to make the recovery at the UNH 47.
On the next play, a 33-yard pass from Morgan to Burke put UNH into the red zone.
Two plays later, Corcoran made a leaping touchdown catch in the front-right corner of the end zone to put UNH in the lead, 31-30, at 6:15.
Ruiz's first-down sack helped force a Stony Brook 3-and-out to give UNH the ball back at 4:59.
Gibson had fierce plays to keep UNH moving the ball, including a 19-yard catch and a pair of 13-yard rushes to advance the game to the two-minute timeout.
Morgan took three kneel downs to run out the rest of the game and secure the furious comeback win.

UNH NOTEBOOK

Toscano became the ninth UNH Wildcat to record 300 career tackles. With his career-high 17 tackles, he vaulted into No. 8 on the program's all-time tackles leaderboard with 302.
He passed Romande Carter (1993-96) and Brett Bashaw (1996-2000) at 297 apiece as well as John Clements (2005-08) at 300.
Burke finished with six receptions for a team-high 74 yards.
Tomlinson also had six receptions for 51 yards and the TD.
UNH honored 23 seniors prior to the game.
