Wildcats score on 86-yard TD pass, 50-yard INT return to earn fifth win of year
The Wildcats (5-4, 3-2 CAA) snapped a two-game skid and handed the Great Danes (3-6, 1-4 CAA) their third consecutive loss.
Morgan went 13 of 20 for 208 yards and played turnover-free football. Graduate student wide receiver Logan Tomlinson (Manchester, Conn.) had a team-leading six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. Burke paced the team with 90 receiving yards.
Junior Myles Thomason (Montclair, N.J.) led the ground attack with 17 rushes for 57 yards.
In addition to his Pick-6, Owens led the defense with 10 tackles (seven solo). Senior defensive end Josiah Silver (Hampton, Va.), the nation's leader in sacks, added another as part of a six-tackle performance.
UAlbany quarterback Trey Lindsey went 11-for-23 for 117 yards and a touchdown. He also was the Great Danes' top rusher with 10 carries for 58 yards. QB Myles Burkett went 7-for-13 for 47 yards and an interception.

FIRST QUARTER
- UAlbany punted on its first possession, and UNH wasted no time in taking a 7-0 lead at 10:48 of the first. On the second play from scrimmage, Morgan launched a deep pass down the left sideline that Burke caught in stride before racing 86 yards for his sixth touchdown of the season. It was Morgan's 16th TD pass of the year. Junior place kicker Nick Mazzie (Boxford, Mass.) was successful on the PAT.
- The Wildcats seized a 14-0 lead at 1:59 when Owens intercepted Burkett's pass at midfield and dashed 50 yards for a Pick-6.
SECOND QUARTER
- Morgan's second TD pass of the game, and 16th of the season, was a 12-yard throw to Tomlinson at 13:32 of the second. The graduate student receiver battled UAlbany cornerback KC Eziomume's tight coverage to make a lunging grab in the right corner of the end zone for his seventh TD reception of the year.
- The Wildcats notched their second takeaway at 5:27 of the second when graduate student defensive tackle Jacoby Sherard (Lawrenceville, N.J.) sacked Burkett at UAlbany's 45, forcing a fumble that was recovered by junior defensive end Zach Garron (Bedford, N.H.) at the Great Danes' 35.
- That set up a short field and a five-play, 13-yard drive that resulted in Mazzie's 40-yard field goal for a 24-0 lead at 3:35.
THIRD QUARTER
- The Great Danes threatened to get on the board with a 15-play, 50-yard drive that took 6:34 off the clock, but the Wildcats turned UAlbany over on downs when Burkett threw an incompletion on 4th-and-3 from the UNH 14 at 4:49 of the third.
FOURTH QUARTER
- UAlbany avoided the shutout at 9:56 of the fourth on a 1-yard QB keeper by Trey Lindsey that capped a 15-play, 88-yard drive.
- Lindsey pitched to Faysal Aden for the successful 2-point conversion to trim UNH's lead to 24-8.
- The Wildcats responded and put the game out of reach with a 13-play, 70-yard drive that melted 7:10 off the clock and resulted in Morgan's third TD toss (18th of season), a three-yarder to sophomore tight end Colby Ramshaw (Londonderry, N.H.), who scored his second touchdown of the year at 2:42.
- Lindsey threw a seven-yard TD pass to Aden with 1:16 to play, but the PAT failed.

- UNH takes an 8-5 all-time lead in the series, which includes wins in the last three meetings.
- The Wildcats have won back-to-back games at Casey Stadium for the first time since winning their first two trips to Albany in 2013 and 2015.
- The Morgan-to-Burke 86-yard TD pass was the longest for UNH since Max Brosmer connected with Dylan Laube for an 87-yard touchdown in an NCAA Division I FCS Championship first-round victory against Fordham at Wildcat Stadium on Nov. 26, 2022.
- The 86 yards represented a career-long pass for Morgan and a career-long reception for Burke; the two previously teamed up for a personal-best 68-yard TD connection versus Stonehill on Sept. 14.
- Owens' Pick-6 was UNH's first since Randall Harris took an INT 25 yards for a touchdown against Monmouth at Wildcat Stadium on Sept. 1, 2022.
- The 50-yard INT return was UNH's longest since Pop Bush returned a 65-yarder at Stony Brook on Sept. 2, 2021.
- Owens' Pick-6 is the longest UNH INT returned for a touchdown since Evan Horn (50 yards) versus Elon on Oct. 5, 2019. Oleh Manzyk had a 55-yard Pick-6 earlier in that game.
- UNH jumped out to a 24-0 lead in a game for the first time since Sept. 2, 2023, when it scored the first 34 points of an eventual 51-17 triumph at Stonehill.
- It was the first time the Wildcats blanked an opponent in the first half since Sept. 16, 2023, when they led Dartmouth, 10-0.
- UNH blanked Elon in the second half of a 17-10 road win on Oct. 12.
