Senior misses All-American by one place; Wildcats in 11th place overall
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – University of New Hampshire senior Nordic skier Peter Holmes (Tahoe City, Calif.) raced to 11th place in the men's 10K classic Thursday at Howelsen Hill Ski Area to miss All-American distinction by one spot, and the Wildcats are in 11th place with 47.5 points halfway through the 2018 National Collegiate Skiing Championships, hosted by the University of Colorado.
Holmes, UNH's lone Nordic skier competing at NCAAs this year, crossed the finish line in 28 minutes, 54.5 seconds for 20 points. That time was 5.7 second behind Northern Michigan's Kjetil Baanerud, who earned the final All-American Second Team berth (10th place).
