Frigon an All-American for Second Straight Year

Junior Women’s Alpine Racer Takes 6th in Friday night’s NCAA Slalom
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – University of New Hampshire junior skier Geneviève Frigon (Laval, Quebec) earned All-American Second Team for the second straight year by finishing sixth in Friday night's women's slalom at Howelsen Hill, propelling the Wildcats to fourth place in that race and 10th overall at the 2018 NCAA Skiing Championships, hosted by the University of Colorado.
Frigon, who missed All-American First Team by a mere 0.01 seconds, clocked in at 38.92 seconds in her initial run (sixth fastest) and 42.02 seconds in her second run (fifth fastest) for a combined time of 1 minute, 20.94 seconds (27 points). The Laval, Quebec, native improved from her ninth-place finish in women's SL at the 2017 NCAA Ski Championships, hosted by UNH at Cannon Mountain.
Lisa Wedsjö (Saltsjöbaden, Sweden) finished in 19th place (1:24.76/12 points) and Sohvi Virkkula (Salla, Finland/1:24.88/11 points) followed in 20th to give New Hampshire 50 points.
Patrick Kenney (Hingham, Mass.) notched a 21st-place finish (1:24.21) in men's slalom for 10 points.
