Fogarty, Healy Lead ‘Cats Over Sacred Heart, 74-47

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Seniors Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) and Olivia Healy (Reading, Mass.) led the way as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers 74-47 on Wednesday afternoon.
Fogarty held the game high in points with 16 and rebounds with eight, while Healy had the most assists in the game with seven, while also scoring 15 points.
The Wildcats scored 74 points for just the second time this season; it stands as the most points scored by UNH this season. New Hampshire also posted its largest lead of the season, 40 points in the third quarter, surpassing its 29 point lead against Colby-Sawyer earlier this season.

The Wildcats wrap up the non conference part of their schedule on Friday, Dec. 29 as they host Cornell in a 7 P.M. contest for their first of two home games in a row.
The America East schedule begins on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 11 A.M. when the Wildcats welcome the UMBC Retreivers to Lundholm Gymnasium to begin conference play.
The Wildcats will then go on the road for two games in a row, at Albany on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 2 P.M. and at Binghamton Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 P.M.

HIGHLIGHTS
Fogarty and Healy were two of four Wildcats to score double figures. Fogarty also tallied a block and dished four assists, while Healy grabbed five rebounds.
Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) had 14 points and six rebounds, while also blocking two shots and dishing out an assist.
Brittni Lai (Irvington, N.Y.) scored in double figures for the seventh time this season, tallying 10 points while dishing five assists, also grabbing two rebounds and a steal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats opened up the game on a 7-0 scoring run in the first two minutes on their way to a 26-9 first quarter lead. The Wildcats were 11-18 from the floor in the first quarter.
The Wildcats continued to outscore the Pioneers in the second, leading 45-19 at halftime. The Wildcats' lead never dipped below 19 points from the second quarter on.
In the third, the Wildcats scored 19 points to Sacred Hearts' seven, garnering their largest lead of the season at 40 points before the end of the third quarter. The 'Cats shot over 50% from the field in the first three quarters.
Sacred Heart bounced back in the fourth quarter and outscored New Hampshire 21-10. They also held the Wildcats to just 33.3% shooting in the final frame.
