What to Know...
- The No. 20 University of New Hampshire men's hockey team will host Colgate on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14, at the Whittemore Center at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be shown live on ESPN3.

- The Wildcats are ranked No. 20 in the most recent USCHO.com Division I Poll announced on Monday, Oct. 9.
- UNH is 25-10-2 all-time versus Colgate, including 12-2-1 in Durham. The Wildcats won the last meeting on Oct. 7, 2000, by a 7-3 score at the Ice Breaker Invitational.

The Matchup: The Wildcats are tied for seventh in the nation with 3.50 goals scored per game, while the Raiders are tied for 14th with 3.00 goals per game. New Hampshire is tied for 14th nationally in scoring defense with 2.00 goals allowed per game and Colgate is fifth with 1.33 goals allowed per game. The Wildcats are tied for ninth with a .250 power play percentage, while the Raiders are 38th .062 percentage. The Wildcats are tied for 27th with a .800 penalty kill percentage and the Raiders are 20th with a .882 percentage.
Series History vs. Colgate: The Wildcats are 25-10-2 all-time versus the Raiders. UNH is also 12-2-1 versus Colgate in games played in Durham. UNH won the last matchup with a 7-3 victory in Ann Arbor, Mich., at the Ice Breaker Invitational on October 6, 2000. The Raiders won the previous game in the series with a 6-5 overtime victory in Durham on October 26, 1996.
Wildcats Start Season 2-0-0: Senior Shane Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) scored with just 13.4 seconds left on October 6 to give the Wildcats a 4-3 victory versus No. 5 UMass Lowell at the Tsongas Center. Then on Saturday, sophomore Liam Blackburn (Prince George, British Columbia) netted two goals to lead UNH to a 3-1 win at the Whittemore Center. The last time the Wildcats started 2-0-0 was 2012-2013 when they swept a two-game series with St. Cloud State in Durham.
Nationally Ranked: UNH is ranked No. 20 in the most recent USCHO.com Division I Poll announced on Monday, Oct. 9. The last time the Wildcats were ranked in this poll was when they were No. 19 in the 2014-2015 season.
Tirone Named Defensive Player of the Week: Senior goaltender Danny Tirone (Trumbull, Conn.) has been named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Wildcats' two-game sweep of a home-and-home series versus No. 5 UMass Lowell to start the 2017-2018 season. This is the fourth time in his career that Tirone has earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades (3/7/2016, 2/1/2016 & 1/19/2015). It is his fifth overall Hockey East weekly award as he received Player of the Week honors on March 6, 2017. Tirone made 52 saves on 56 shots for a .929 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average. Tirone recorded 20 saves on Friday in the 4-3 victory on the road, while he posted 32 saves on Saturday, including 15 in the third period to secure the 3-1 win.
Eiserman With Huge Goal: With just 13.4 seconds remaining in the third period, senior Shane Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) broke a 3-3 tie to give the Wildcats a 4-3 season-opening win at No. 5 UMass Lowell on October 6. It was Eiserman's second career game winner. He now has 13 goals and 30 assists for 43 career points.
Blackburn Nets Two Goals: Sophomore Liam Blackburn (Prince George, British Columbia) posted two goals and one assist for three points as the Wildcats started off the season with two wins versus No. 5 UMass Lowell in a home-and-home series. He had an assist in the 4-3 win on the road on Friday, while he netted two goals on Saturday in the 3-1 victory. This was his second career two-goal game as he now has 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 career points.
Clutch Player: Sophomore defenseman Anthony Wyse (Newton, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in the 3-1 victory versus No. 5 UMass Lowell on October 7. He now has two career goals as they are both game winners. His first goal was the game winner in the 4-2 victory at No. 14 Vermont on Feb. 10, 2017.
First Collegiate Points: Freshmen defensemen Benton Maass (Elk River, Minn.) and Max Gildon (Plano, Texas) each recorded their first collegiate point in the season-opening sweep of No. 5 UMass Lowell. Maass had an assist in each game, while Gildon tallied an assist in the first game.
Number 91: The 2017-2018 season is the 91st year of men's hockey at UNH. The program has a record of 1,224-922-148.
Umile in 28th & Final Season At UNH: UNH head coach Dick Umile is the second longest tenured coach at their current institution as he is now in his 28th season with the 'Cats. Rick Gotkin (Mercyhurst) is going into his 30th season. Umile has a 588-355-108 all-time record at UNH. The 588 wins are third among active Division I coaches.
Chanter Named Captain: Senior defenseman Dylan Chanter (Armstrong, British Columbia) is the team captain for the 2017-2018 season. Chanter played in 37 games a year ago as a key member of the defense.
Tirone Second All-Time: Senior assistant captain Danny Tirone (Trumbull, Conn.) is second all-time at UNH with 2,757 career saves. Kevin Regan (2005-2008) is first with 3,235 saves. Tirone's 1,137 saves last year led the nation and was third all-time at UNH.
Granite State Connection: Four Wildcats are from the Granite State; junior Chris Miller of Windham, sophomore Nick Nonis of Hampton Falls, sophomore Joe Lazzaro of Hampstead and freshman Mike Robinson of Bedford.
Wildcats Drafted by NHL Teams: Five current Wildcats are NHL draft picks. Senior Shane Eiserman (Ottawa), junior Marcus Vela (San Jose), and freshmen Benton Maass (Washington), Max Gildon (Florida) and Mike Robinson (San Jose) have all been drafted by NHL organizations.
Wildcats Through and Through: Head coach Dick Umile ('72) and associate head coaches Glenn Stewart ('94) and Mike Souza ('00) are all graduates and former players of UNH. Goaltenders coach Brian Foster ('10) was an All-American at UNH. Assistant AD for Hockey Operations Colin Shank ('05) is also a graduate of UNH.
Three Coaches, 402 Points: Umile, Stewart and Souza are each members of the Century Club for the men's hockey program. Souza tallied 156 points (66g, 90a), Umile 144 points (60g, 84a) and Stewart notched 102 points (51g, 51a).
