Seven-Game Home Stand Begins With Harvard (Sept. 13; 7 PM)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire volleyball team is set to host Harvard University on Tuesday, Sept. 13 (7 PM) in Lundholm Gymnasium.

New Hampshire Scout
The Wildcats just wrapped up a three game tournament hosted by Temple. They also faced Rutgers and Cleveland State. On day one of the tournament, they beat Rutgers in four sets (25-19, 25-23, 18-25, 25-18). Freshman outside hitter, Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 14 digs. Senior Sarah Carlson (Hutchinson, Minn.) had a career high 20 digs. On the second day, the Wildcats faced a double-header against Temple and Cleveland State. The Wildcats lost in four against Temple (24-26, 21-25, 25-18, 15-25). Junior outside hitter Courtney Bowman (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) finished the game with 14 kills. The Wildcats went on to lose to Cleveland State in four (16-25, 25-22, 26-28, 12-25). Senior middle blocker Demi Muses (Orangevale, Calif.) led the team with 15 kills and Carlson recorded 19 digs, just shy of her career high, which she set the day previous.

Harvard is coming off double-header losses at the Baden Invitational, where they lost to Arizona State in three and Pepperdine in five. Against Arizona State, Christina Cornelius and Caroline Labanowski both had seven kills. Isabelle Tashima had seven digs. In the second game, Corinne Bain recorded 23 digs against Pepperdine while Grace Roberts Burbank recorded 16 kills. Tashima leads the team in digs with 65 and Cornelius leads the team in kills with 47.

Harvard holds the all-time series lead at 14-10. New Hampshire last won against Harvard on Sept. 24, 2013 in five sets on the road.
