Men’s Cross Country Places 19th at Boston Coast-to-Coast Meet

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Senior captain Brendan McCarthy (Mansfield, Mass.) and classmate Sam Gagnon (Hooksett, N.H.) led the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team to a 19th place finish (523 points) at the Boston Coast-to-Coast meet held at Boston College, Friday afternoon.
McCarthy and Gagnon finished the 8K race in 25 minutes, 35.0 seconds for the top Wildcat time. The Massachusetts Native officially placed 91st overall while Gagnon claimed 92nd.
Junior Mitchell Dutton (Salem, N.H.) earned a 121st place finish with a time of 25:56.0. Sophomore Ryan Chiesa (Stockholm, N.J.) wrapped up his race in 26:25.0 for 147th place followed by freshman Cody Symonds (Alton, N.H.), who finished 162nd overall (26:44.0).
To close out the top-7 times, sophomore Drew Piazza (Danvers, Mass.) and Neil Mistretta (Durham, N.H.) placed 164th (26:50.0) and 168th (26:58.0) overall, respectively.
New Hampshire has a 15-day break until the next meet, when they head back to Boston College for the New England Championships (Oct. 10).
