WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD PLACES SECOND AT NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

DEDHAM,
Mass. - Juniors Camille Quarles (Derry,
N.H.) and Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova
Scotia), as well as sophomore Kate Early (Corning,
N.Y.), each won individual titles to lead the University of New
Hampshire women's outdoor track & field team to a second-place
finish at the 39-squad New England Championships on Saturday at the
University of Northeastern's Solomon Track.
The Wildcats amassed 93 points to finish behind Boston College
(102).
Quarles won the triple jump with a leap of 12.07m. Quarles was
eighth in the long jump on day two with a mark of 5.29m.
Letourneau ran to a first-place finish in the 800 meters in a time
of two minutes, 11.76 seconds.
Early was victorious in the heptathlon with 4,256 points.
Junior Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) placed
second in the high jump as she cleared a height of 1.65m.
The Wildcats' 4x800-meter relay team finished second in a time of
9:05.70. The 4x400 squad was third in a time of 3:51.11.
Junior Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.) placed
fourth in the 400-meter hurdles final in a time of 1:03.26.
Senior Tayla Ryan (Norwood, Mass.) finished fifth
in the 100-meter hurdles final in a time of 15.19.
Freshman Allison Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.) finished
seventh in the 100m final in a time of 12.79.
The Wildcats
return to action May 14-16 at the ECAC Championships at Princeton
University.
