Freshman Jill Walker (Simi Valley, Calif.) led the Wildcats with a sixth-place finish as the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team opened the season Sept. 11 at the Friar Invitational on the 5K Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park. Nationally ranked Providence College won the meet followed by UNH and Stony Brook University.
Jill crossed the finish line with a time of 18 minutes, 17.12 seconds collegiate debut. Four of the five runners who placed ahead of Jill were from the nationally ranked Friars squad.
The Wildcats will return to action when they host the Pre-Conference Meet on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 12 p.m.
