Nikki Harnett, a freshman from Plymouth, Minn., backstopped the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team to a 1-0 overtime victory against UConn at the Whittemore Center on Jan. 11.
With a career-high 32 saves, Nikki earned her second victory of the season and first career shutout. She was honored as Women's Hockey East Rookie of the Week (for the second time this season) on Jan. 13.
Nikki got the start in Saturday's contest, just her third start of the season and her first at the Whittemore Center. She made 14 saves in the first period, followed by 10 in the second stanza and eight in the third. She did not face a shot on goal in the extra session.
In five games this season, Nikki has a 2-1-1 record with a 1.44 GAA and .949 save percentage.
