Grad student Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) of the UNH gymnastics team was named a Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 17.
Kylie tied for first place in the all-around with a personal-best score of 39.375 in the gymnastics’ team season opener Jan. 14 at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.
In the first rotation, Kylie recorded a career-high-matching 9.875 on vault to win that event and lead the Wildcats to a top team score of 49.050. She followed that with a winning mark of 9.850 on the uneven bars – UNH also had the top team score of 48.775 on bars.
Kylie ended the tri-meet with a top mark of 9.875 on floor exercise.
The UNH gymnastics team returns to action Jan. 21 (2 p.m.) for a quad meet at Long Island University’s Pratt Recreation Center. The Wildcats’ next home meet is Feb. 4 (2 p.m.) against Southern Connecticut State at Lundholm Gym. Buy tickets online by CLICKING HERE.
