Senior captain Chase Stevenson (West Kelowna, British Columbia) recorded two goals and an assists to lead the UNH men's hockey team to a weekend sweep of 13th-ranked UConn at the Whittemore Center on Feb. 10-11.
Chase scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in the 4-1 win last Friday. He drew a penalty shot at 2:16 of the first period and scored to give the Wildcats an early 1-0 lead. He struck again at 18:12 of the opening stanza to score what proved to be the game-winning goal. He won 7 of his 10 faceoffs, was credited with one block and also had a +3 plus/minus rating,
Then in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win, Chase set up the game-winning goal in the extra session to help lift the Wildcats to their fourth consecutive win.
New Hampshire returns to action Feb. 17-18 for a two-game Border Battle (presented by Buffalo Wild Wings) against Maine at the Whittemore Center. Game time is 7 p.m. both days, and Saturday is Senior Night.
