Meg Champagne, a freshman from Plattsburgh, N.Y., finished sixth at the America East Women’s Cross Country Championship meet on Oct. 29 to help UNH win its fourth consecutive conference title.
Champagne completed the 5K course at Jerusalem Mills Park (Baltimore, Md.) in 17 minutes, 32.3 seconds. She was the second Wildcat across the finish line as the Wildcats placed six runners among the top 17 and finished with 45 points – two points better than Stony Brook University.
By virtue of that sixth-place finish, Champagne earned America East All-Conference First Team recognition. She was also named Most Outstanding Rookie.
