Anna Metzler, a freshman from Regensburg, Germany, won three individual events for the UNH swimming & diving team at last weekend’s Terrier Invitational, a three-day event hosted by Boston University.
Anna swept the 500-yard freestyle and 200 individual medley on the opening day of the meet (Nov. 16). She was the fastest of 44 swimmers in the 500 free with a career-best time of 4 minutes, 52.87 seconds. Among a field of 60 competitors, Anna edged teammate Corinne Carbone at the wall with a winning time of 2:01.35.
On Day 2, Anna won the 400 individual medley with the 26th-best time in the nation this year of 4:15.13 seconds.
The rookie also swam to first place in the 200 backstroke B final with a career-best time of 2:01.0 on the final day of competition.
The UNH swimming and diving team returns to action Dec. 8 at Northeastern University’s Barletta Natatorium.
