Converse, Pickard Earn America East Weekly Awards

Converse paces America East in kills, points while Pickard leads in digs.
BOSTON — University of New Hampshire junior outside hitter Emma Converse (San Antonio, Texas) was named America East Player of the Week and junior libero Hady Pickard (Roswell, Ga.) was named America East Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday (Sept. 1).
Converse was dominant in her first three matches as a Wildcats, posting a conference-leading 42 kills (3.50/set, 1st in AE), including three straight performances of 10+ kills, and highlighted by a career-high 20-kill outing against Providence (8/29). Additionally, Converse posted a .330 attack percentage, four assists, three service aces (t-9th most in AE), 25 digs (2.08/set), 3.0 total blocks, and 46.5 points (3.88/set), most in the conference.
Pickard had an impressive start to her career in Durham, notching a conference-leading 60 digs (5.00/set) on defense while also posting a team-leading five service aces on offense, tied for second-most in America East. Additionally, Pickard closed the opening weekend with one kill, 12 assists, and 6.0 points.
