DURHAM, N.H. - Twelve University of New Hampshire cross country and track & field athletes have earned a perfect grade point average of 4.0 for the fall semester. In comparison, UNH's other 14 teams submitted a total of nine 4.0 GPA's.

Freshmen Victor Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.) and Darcy James (Exeter, N.H.), sophomores Eva-Molly Dunbar (Hanover N.H.), Megan Murnane (Andover N.J.), Jacky Mendes (Dayton, Maine) and Melody Polthier (Lisbon, Conn.), juniors Kaitlin Kwiecien (Hampstead, N.H.), Chelsey Canavan (Stoneham, Mass.) and Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.), seniors Victoria Goodheart (Meredith, N.H.) and Kimberly Povec (Holland-Patent, N.Y.), as well as graduate student Ben Jenkins (Francestown, N.H.) all earned perfect marks.

In addition to the individuals earning 4.0's, the teams as a whole performed well in the classroom. Most notably the women's cross country squad posted a team GPA of 3.40. Women's outdoor and indoor track & field earned GPA's of 3.33 and 3.32, respectively. Men's cross country, men's outdoor track & field and women's outdoor track all earned a team GPA of 3.04.

The men's and women's indoor track & field teams return to action Friday, Feb. 12 at the two-day BU Valentine Classic.
