Ryan VanSchelven joined the UNH football program as the running backs coach in February 2025.
VanSchelven was in charge of offensive quality control at Harvard University in the 2024 season. His responsibilities included running the scout team, defense, and assisting with the quarterbacks. Harvard ended the season with an 8-2 record and No. 25 national ranking.
VanSchelven is a 2023 graduate of the University of Dayton with a degree in Civil Engineering. As a quarterback for the Flyers, he was awarded the 2022 Lt. Andy Zulli Memorial Trophy, which is a character-based award regarded as the most prestigious in the football program; it acknowledges the player who best exemplifies sportsmanship, leadership and scholarship.
He remained with the Dayton football program for the 2023 season with the responsibility of offensive quality control. VanSchelven ran scout team defense and assisted with quarterbacks.
