Thomason, Vezza Named to FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team

CLEVELAND – Myles Thomason (Montclair, N.J.) and Mazz Vezza (Elmhurst, Ill.) of the 22nd-ranked University of New Hampshire football team were among the 57 student-athletes named to the 2025 Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team on Tuesday.
Thomason has recorded a 3.66 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a business administration: marketing degree while Vezza has a 3.88 GPA studying for an analytics and data science degree. Both student-athletes have been named to the CAA Football Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll every semester as a Wildcat. Vezza was voted to the 2025CAA All-Conference Third Team, whereas Thomason was an Honorable Mention selection as the duo led the Wildcats to eight wins and the NCAA playoffs.
Football players from every FCS institution are eligible for the award. Each nominee is required to: have a GPA of 3.20 or higher; be a starter or key player with athletics credentials; have participated in a minimum of 50 percent of the games played at their designated position; reached the second year of both athletic and academic standing at the nominated institution; and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution.
The 2026 UNH football team, under the leadership of new head coach Sean Goldrich, plays its home opener Sept. 12 vs. Stonehill College and Homecoming is Oct. 3 vs. Elon University.

Thomason was UNH's top ground gainer with 193 rushes for 736 yards and four touchdowns for averages of 3.8 yards per carry and 56.6 rushing yards per game. The senior running back ranked fifth in the CAA in rushes and eighth in rushing yards, as well as seventh in both all-purpose yards (1,229) and punt return average (12.9).
Thomason rushed for a career-high 130 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries against William & Mary. One week later, he had 99 yards and a TD on 20 rushes at Monmouth University, and he finished with a career-high 22 rushes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the regular-season finale against the University of Maine.
Thomason also ranked third on the team with 30 receptions for 233 yards and a TD. He was UNH's top punt returner with 18 returns for 233 yards – an average of 12.9 yards per return – and had one kickoff return for 27 yards. He averaged a team-high 94.5 all-purpose yards per game.
Vezza, whose regular-season accolades included CAA Offensive Player of the Week and two New England Football Writers Gold Helmet awards, took every snap at quarterback for the Wildcats in the 2025 season. He completed 226 of 369 passes for 2,673 yards and 19 touchdowns with a 135.3 efficiency rating, and he also led the team with eight rushing touchdowns on 151 carries for 601 yards. Vezza ranked third in the conference in passing yards and was fourth in TD passes.
In his first career start, the sophomore QB completed 10 of 17 passes for 186 yards and two TDs to lead UNH to a 27-10 win at N.C. Central. He recorded career highs of 328 passing yards and five touchdowns in a 42-14 win at Bryant. Vezza threw for 280 yards and three TDs with a season-high 219.2 efficiency rating and ran for a career-high 99 yards in a victory vs. William & Mary.
Vezza threw for 1,277 yards and 12 touchdowns on a 66.2 completion percentage with a 162.2 rating as UNH closed the regular season on a five-game winning streak.
