Football Enters Weekly National Polls at #23/24

DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire football team, following a 2-0 start to the year with a season-opening 27-10 victory at NC Central on Aug. 30 and home-opening 19-16 win against Holy Cross on Sept. 6, entered both national polls Monday -- No. 23 in Stats Perform and 24th in the AFCA Coaches poll.
UNH overcame a 16-13 fourth-quarter deficit against Holy Cross when sophomore kicker Nick Reed (Harrison, N.Y.) kicked a 50-yard field goal with 9:13 remaining and made a 40-yarder as time expired. Reed was honored as the CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week as well as Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.
The Wildcats return to action Sept. 13 (2 p.m.) at Ball State University of the FBS. New Hampshire's next home game is Sept. 27 (1 p.m.) for the CAA Football conference opener vs. UAlbany. CLICK HERE or call (603) 862-4000 to buy tickets.
