Ruth White Named America East Women's XC Performer of Week

Wildcat sophomore won 5K at Ted Owen Invitational for second win of season
BOSTON – After racing to victory in Saturday's Ted Owen Invitational 5K race at Stanley Quarter Park, UNH women's cross country student-athlete Ruth White (Orono, Maine) has been named the America East Women's XC Performer of the Week.
Competing against eight schools, including UConn, Lehigh, Stony Brook and Seton Hall, White crossed the finish line in 17 minutes, 6.60 seconds, which was 5.80 seconds ahead of runner-up Brooke Strauss of UConn. The sophomore helped the Wildcats score 72 points to finish in second place.
White has placed first in each of UNH's first two XC races of the season. She previously won the women's 3K at the Suffolk Short Course Classic on Aug. 30.

•The Wildcat cross country teams will next compete in the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University, on Friday, Oct. 3, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pa.
