Women's XC Picked No. 1 in America East Preseason Coaches Poll

Defending champions open season at Suffolk Short Course Classic (Aug. 30)
BOSTON – The defending America East champion UNH women's cross country team received six of nine first-place votes and was picked No. 1 in the Women's XC America East Preseason Coaches Poll announced Tuesday.
The Wildcats tabulated 62 points for the top spot, followed by Bryant (50 points), Binghamton (48), UMass Lowell (47), Maine (37), Vermont (32), UAlbany (22), UMBC (15), and NJIT (11).
In 2024, UNH won the America East Championship for the eighth time in program history and the first time since 2019. Claire Ronan's (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) third-place finish headlined four Wildcats in the Top 10 to propel the 'Cats to a 21-point victory over UMass Lowell, 52-73. Gabby DeAngelis (Bedford, N.H.) captured Women's Most Outstanding Rookie honors, and head coach Anna Magle-Haberek and assistant coaches Alison Duffy and Casey Carroll won the America East Coaching Staff of the Year award.
The 2025 America East Championship, hosted by UMass Lowell, will take place at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds (Contoocook, N.H.) on Friday, Oct. 31.
