Alex Gagne Named Hockey East Third Team All-Star

Gagne earns this accolade for the second straight season
AMESBURY, Mass. – University of New Hampshire senior captain Alex Gagne (Bedford, N.H.) has earned Hockey East Third Team All-Star honors for the second straight season as announced by the conference.
Gagne, who was only the sixth two-time captain in program history, played in all 35 games this season with four goals and 13 assists for 17 points. His four goals and 17 points were both the best of his career. He led the team and is tied for third in Hockey East with 62 blocks.
Gagne, who was selected in the sixth round (192nd overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, appeared in 139 career games with seven goals, 41 assists, 48 points and 241 blocks. He was named the Hockey East Defender of the Week three times (12/12/22, 2/19/23 & 1/8/24) and the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week once (2/21/22).
Gagne has won numerous awards during his career including New England All-Star (2024), Roger A. LeClerc Most Valuable Player (2024), Rod Langway Best Defenseman (2024), College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team (2024) and Hockey East All-Academic Team (2022, 2023 & 2024).
Off the ice, Gagne has made a positive impact as the Community Liaison for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He was a nominee for the Hockey Humanitarian Award and has won the team's Whoop Snively Citizenship Award three times.
