UNH's Trevor Barry Named to Jerry Rice Award Watch List

DURHAM, N.H. – Trevor Barry (Elma, N.Y.), a redshirt freshman linebacker on the University of New Hampshire football team, has been named to the Watch List for the Stats Perform 2025 Jerry Rice Award.

The Jerry Rice Award is presented annually to FCS freshman player of the year. Barry is 1 of 22 players nominated to the Watch List and he is 1 of 6 defensive players on the list.

Barry is UNH's leader in solo tackles (29), assisted tackles (27) and total tackles (56) through eight games.

This game is part of two initiatives: UNH Basic Needs Coat Drive – fans are encouraged to bring a new or lightly used coat and/or new hats, gloves or scarves; and Food Frenzy – fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items.

Barry has been the team's leading tackler in four games this season, including the first three games with 10 at NC Central, nine vs. Holy Cross, and eight at Ball State. Barry matched his season high of 10 tackles Oct. 11 at 17^th-ranked Rhode Island.

Also of note, he finished with six tackles in road games against Dartmouth College and Campbell University.

The Jerry Rice Award, celebrating its 15th anniversary season, is named after legendary Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, who starred in the FCS at Mississippi Valley State University.
