UNH's Late Rally Falls Just Short at Binghamton, 2-1

Zeepvat posts a career-best 13 saves
VESTAL, N.Y. – Senior goalkeeper Sonja Zeepvat (Mendham, N.J.) registered a career-high 13 saves, and sophomore forward Lindsay Lenhard (Spencerport, N.Y.) scored in the final five minutes, but the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team fell just short in a 2-1 loss to Binghamton on Sunday afternoon in America East action at Bearcats Sports Complex.
The Wildcats fall to 3-7-2 (0-4-0 AE), while the Bearcats improve to 7-2-3 (3-0-1 AE).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead when Jahkaya Davis fired a shot from 18 yards out to the lower right corner of the net in the 12th minute (11:24).
- Zeepvat made her first save of the game when she kept an attempt by Taylor Gabel from 12 yards out from going to the back of the net in the 17th minute.
- Sophomore defender Nina Ciri (Hopkinton, Mass.) almost tied the game when she sent a header that hit the top of the woodwork in the 31st minute.
- Just three minutes later, Zeepvat delivered one of the match's biggest moments, denying a penalty kick to preserve the 1-0 scoreline.

- Binghamton increased the lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute (42:53) as Paige Luke volleyed a shot from eight yards out to the right side of the net.
- Zeepvat made another outstanding save in the 72nd minute when she pushed a shot by Sophia Garofalo over the net.
- With less than five minutes remaining in the second half in the 86th minute (85:14), Lenhard knocked in a loose ball from right in front of the net for her first goal as a UNH Wildcat to cut the deficit to 2-1. Junior forward Ava VanBuskirk (Marlborough, Mass.) posted an assist on the goal.

- Then with just 44 seconds left, the Bearcats were called for a foul in the box, but Rebecca Kessler made the save on the ensuing penalty kick for the 2-1 final score.
