Madison Donati scores for the Wildcats

BALTIMORE – Junior forward Madison Donati (Pacifica, Calif.) scored for the Wildcats, but the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team fell to UMBC, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Retriever Soccer Park in America East action.

The Wildcats fall to 3-5-2 (0-2-0 AE), while the Retrievers improve to 7-3-2 (1-1-0 AE).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Senior goalkeeper Sonja Zeepvat (Mendham, N.J.) made the first save of the match in the sixth minute, with a kick save to stop a shot by Brooke Clagett.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute (30:53) when Donati scored from 12 yards out into the lower-left corner off a pass from senior midfielder Elizabeth Finn (Scituate, Mass.). The goal was Donati's second of the season.

UMBC evened the score at 1-1 in the 55th minute (54:04) when Clagett finished from six yards out to the upper-left corner.
The Retrievers took a 2-1 lead in the 58th minute (57:54) on a goal by Delainey Proctor from 25 yards out.
After receiving a red card, the Wildcats played the final 20 minutes a player down and were unable to find the equalizer as UMBC held on for the 2-1 victory.
