'Cats Score a 193.675 to Place Second in Western Michigan Tri-Meet

Challman ties for floor championship, Reade wins all-around title and ‘Cats post first win
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Sophomore Anne Challman (Lewisburg, Pa.) tied for first place on floor exercise, senior Gracy Mowers (Middleton, Mass.) and junior Serena Mullin (Hamden, Conn.) each earned a runner-up event finish, and freshman Aine Reade (Merrimac, Mass.) won her first career all-around championship in Sunday's Western Michigan tri-meet at University Arena.
WMU scored a 195.350 to win the meet, while UNH (1-4) posted a 193.675 to finish second with a win against Fisk University (187.450).
Reade (38.650) edged Fisk's Morgan Price (38.200) to win the all-around.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Vault (Team Score – 48.500)
•Mowers headlined the vault lineup with a 9.775, which equaled Price and Western Michigan's Sarah Moravansky for second place.
•WMU's Halle Faulkner topped the vault podium with a 9.800.
•Reade matcher her personal best (9.750) for the third consecutive meet to claim a share of fifth.
Uneven Bars (Team Score – 47.795)
•The Wildcats opened the meet on bars, and sophomore Zoe Arthur (El Segundo, Calif.) led the way with a career-high 9.750 (T-5th).
•Junior Leah Moreno (Cary, N.C.) registered a 9.700 to place seventh.
•Senior Julia Before (Sutton, Vt.) set a personal best (9.600, 9th).
•WMU's Reese Samuelson and Fisk's Price shared the top bar score (9.825).
Balance Beam (Team Score – 48.425)
•Mullin scored a team-high and season-best 9.825 to share second place with Moravansky.
•Freshman Mady Harvey (Freeland, Mich.) celebrated a return to her home state with a fourth-place finish (9.775).
•Reade, making her collegiate beam debut, scored a 9.725 to be part of a six-way tie for fifth.
•Western Michigan's Emily Krzciol won beam with a 9.850.
Floor Exercise (Team Score – 48.775)
•Challman tied her personal best for the second straight week with a 9.850 to share the top score with WMU's Cassie St. Clair and Ally Schaupp.
•Reade tallied a 9.825 for fourth place, and sophomore McCall McMullen (Athens, Ga.) set a personal best with a 9.775 for fifth place.
•Sophomore Poulina Minaev (Smithtown, N.Y.) took ninth (9.675), and freshman Stacy Boss (Richboro, Pa.) debuted on floor with a 9.650 (10th).
