13 UNH Men’s Cross Country Runners Placed on America East Academic Honor Roll

BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team placed 13 student-athletes on the America East Academic Honor Roll for Fall 2023. Twelve runners earned Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition and one made the Honor Roll.
Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who recorded a Fall 2023 semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 are named to the Honor Roll. The Wildcats placed 70.6 percent of their roster on the Commissioner's Honor Roll and 76.5 percent of the team was honored overall.
Zachary Hooper (Concord, N.H.) recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA for the second year in a row.
Joining Hooper on the Commissioner's Honor Roll were Matthew Allen (East Kingston, N.H.), Watson Chodat (Malone, N.Y.), William Curran (Old Saybrook, Conn.), Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine), Samuel Hilts (Concord N.H.), Brayden Kearns (Deerfield, N.H.), Joshua Lesniak (Durham, Conn.), John Murphy (Deerfield N.H.), Aidan O'Hern (Concord, N.H.), Zack Plaza (Auburn, N.H.) and Aidan Shea (Amherst Mass.).
Samuel York (Bar Harbor, Maine) was named to the Honor Roll in his first year as a Wildcat.
Eighty percent of student-athletes who competed in America East sponsored sports in the 2023-24 academic year earned Honor Roll recognition for achieving at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2023 fall semester or 2024 spring semesters. In total, 53 percent of student-athletes and 1,828 in total earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status for registering a GPA of 3.5 or better. Overall, 2,738 America East student-athletes earned Academic Honor Roll in 2023-24. This marks the 19th consecutive year America East student-athletes have averaged at least a 3.0 GPA.
New Hampshire begins the 2024 season Aug. 31 at the Vermont Invite.
